Teachers receive tens of written letters, thank you signs and snacks as students come in to thank them on teacher appreciation week. The week was created to help recognize teachers and their efforts to prepare students for the future.

“Teacher appreciation is a happy and important week to show thank for all the teachers time they spend on us to thrive in life,” senior Joseph Kim said.

During this week, the PTO is known for organizing small events for the teachers to say thank you for all their hard work. In the past, the PTO has brought food for the teachers to eat throughout the day and other perks to show their appreciation.

“I feel appreciated during teacher appreciation week because of our students and PTO do a lot to recognize the hard work of our teachers.” English department teacher Haley Care said. “I always keep the letters I receive from students as a reminder of that appreciation.”

With this week approaching, do not feel pressured to go buy a teacher a gift from the store. As it is not mandatory to spend money, but students can find other ways to show their appreciation to the teachers.

“Another way to show appreciation for the teachers is by getting good grades in my opinion,” Kim said.
