Talking with community members, connecting with all ages, and engaging people at various town functions – it is all in their name.

The Interact Club is comprised of students willing to dedicate their time to lending hand in the community. Seniors and members of National Honor Society work to complete their community service hours through events that the club offers.

It gives members the unique opportunity of meeting people not specifically centered in the school. It focuses on helping run and volunteer at events within the whole community.Interact club meets on the second Wednesday of each month in room A116 to plan and work on beneficiary activities.

“I’m a part of Interact Club because I find it to really interesting to meet new people through getting involved in the community,” club president Grace Fleetwood said. “It’s a good way to talk to people I wouldn’t normally meet.”

This year, the club looks forward to helping with the Boo Bash at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, assisting with the Fall Fest at Flat Fork Creek Park, and writing letters to students in Mexico. It will also participate in an annual trick-or-treat session at the Hamilton East Public Library the week before Halloween.

“We do this thing in October called Octoboo where we go to the public library and dress up in costumes and give candy to kids,” Fleetwood said. “It’s one of my favorite things we do.”
