“I am so excited for this season,” HSE junior Gabby Rump said. “It’s just a fun thing to do and a great environment to be in.”
Quidditch is played by “flying” on a broom while hitting the quaffle, the largest ball. Beaters go on the defensive, hitting chasers, the offensive players, with bludgers to get them out.
“I hope that more schools become a part of it. It would bring a lot of rivalry to this sport. Eventually I hope every school has a team we can compete against,” Rump said.
The club is run by LaJoi Shelton in B101. Waivers are available in her room for anyone who is interested in playing. The games cost $5 to play and join. Official matches begin on Sept. 3 at 2 at the HSE soccer fields.
