What was supposed to be the last movie of the Divergent series, “Allegiant” was released on March 18, for viewers to find out that it was not the last movie since Lionsgate decided to split the movie into two. This affected viewers thoughts on the movies and the whole plot of the series.

“After I saw ‘Allegiant’, I was disappointed by the way they had to make the movie in order to split it into two. I feel like if they would’ve kept it as one it would have been much better than it was and live up to the expectations it had,” sophomore Brooke Rance said.

In the last movie “Insurgent,” Tris, played by Shaliene Woodley, and Tobias, played by Theo James, are able to conquer the leader of the dystopian world they are living. The people were always following the paths of their factions and not allowed to be different, which is known throughout the movie as being a divergent.

Throughout the latest movie people like Tris and Tobias plus key stars from the previous movies go outside of the wall which has been surrounding the previous city of Chicago. They were always told that the world beyond the wall was a dangerous one and they were lucky to be protected by it.

Everything they find outside of the wall was nothing expected and causes them to make sacrifices they never thought they would have to deal with anything after defeating the controlling Erudite faction.

The movie is left at a typical cliffhanger that is supposed to leave viewers wanting more but to the people who have seen the movie that does not seem to be the case. “The Divergent Series: Ascendant” which is the next part of the series has still not been given a set release date.

This film is playing at local theaters like AMC, Hamilton 16 IMAX and United Artists Galaxy 14.
