I was a little wary of the movie initially because I thought it was targeted toward small children. While that is definitely true, “LEGO: Batman” incorporated different types of humor for all ages and kept me thoroughly entertained.
It began with a thrilling action sequence that led into a perfect depiction of the dark and mysterious Batman stereotype, letting viewers relate this Batman to the ones they have seen in the past. It involved several battle scenes, each more intriguing than the last.
Though the plot was somewhat easy to predict, I thought the producers did an amazing job of throwing in twists and turns to keep the entire audience interested. The creators also threw in several references to past Batman movies and TV shows that connected Arnett’s version to his predecessors.
My favorite aspect of this film was how it bridged the gap between modern viewers and those who grew up with the Batman industry, truly showing the producers’ attempt to make a movie for everyone.
Overall, “LEGO: Batman” is a fun family film jam-packed with intense action and strong themes about family and friendship, showing that no one is too old to revisit their childhood.
